Our Merino Warm quarter-zip pullover uses mid-weight Merino wool with an interlocking knit that increases loft, thus insulation, and has a wider range of comfort. It's warmer when it's colder, and yet you still won't overheat when it get's hot because it breathes better than a denser Jersey knit fabric.
It gets better. It's soft, luxuriously soft. The tinier the fibers, the softer the feel. Ours are 18½ microns on average. Teeny Tiny.
Then you add wool's amazing ability to not overheat when it gets hot. Think of it as a next-to-skin micro climate regulator. And when you're hot enough to sweat, don't worry, wool's remarkable chemistry (lanolin) stops the stink before it starts.
It's not combustible, so it resists burning.

I have 2 of these tops, matching bottoms and underwear. I have been wearing them for several years now and feel I can write and honest review. I bought them on sale because the rep on the phone recommended them. I wear them during hunting season and all the way thru spring under my waders when I trout fish. When I wear them, I wear them hard. They truly are super soft and comfortable against the skin for extended periods. They also absorb moisture but dry out quickly when your working and sweating hard but still keep you warm. They fight odor like Bruce Lee fought bad ninjas. I have worn them on occasion for over 5 days straight and never took them off on backcountry hunting and fishing trips and they never once got nasty or stinky. They feel light and fit well against the skin so layering is easy, even if you just want to wear them under jeans and a shirt on cold days. They also come with a small repair patch should something happen. The rep was honest and told me they are not on the same level as smart wool but very comparable to icebreaker. I own icebreaker wool garments and not only are these better, but so is their customer service. I also own filson wool base layers (which are very nice) but these are way more comfortable against the skin and keep me warm. Period. In my opinion, if your looking for a simple and functional base layer, these just might be the best for the money and quality on the market.
