When you're headed for a long trail you want our Makalu. It's made especially for extended trips with only a tent for a roof and room enough to carry all your essentials, food, and clothing for a decadent weekend or a spartan week.

Chose your size, 65 liters for a 3-day weekend in comfort, or the 85 liter for an extended trip with the bare necessities.

Not that carrying 85 liters of anything but air is easy, but with the Makalu pack we make carrying a weeks worth of gear and food on your back more comfortable than you would imagine .

Our IBC suspension system adjusts to your torso length and rests comfortably on your hips. Two aluminum stays inside distribute the load evenly over your hips.

The hip belt is contoured not only around your hips, but is cupped to hug your illiac crest. There are two removable, zippered pockets on the hip belt for snacks or other small items.

Stretchy side and front panel stash pockets plus 3x  compression straps to hold gear or reduce pack volume.

Multiple lash points: Ice axe loops, ladder chains, elastic cord ties, bottom straps, and 3x compression straps.


Shoulder straps have plenty of dense padding, with a sternum strap that adjusts up or down and has an emergency whistle on the buckle.

The main pack has a huge, top-loading main compartment with an extendable lid. There is a partition on the bottom that can be accessed from the frontside via a huge #10 YKK zipper with dual-sliders.

Webbing straps along the bottom let you add things like a rolled up sleeping pad or tent.

Hydration ready with two exit ports on either side, and a sleeve against the back panel to hang a water bladder within. Plus tons of other features.

Phenomenal Ski jacket

Best ski jacket ever! I just retired my 2yr old Spyder one, no doubt an upgrade. Terrific Climate and moisture control coupled with breathability, Light weight and durability makes it a great overall winter jacket. absolutely love it! Thank you SK and RF Outdoors!

Wonderful product

Wonderful gloves, warm yet not bulky so you can still easyly grip a steering wheel. I like the leather palms, and soft lining. These are true to size, and very comfortable.

Super versatile

Purchased this accessory for a trip, it arrived within two days. I purchased the large size, as I usually pack all of the family toiletries together. I like all the different compartments, and pockets. Its large enough to fit a personal hair dryer, but compact so that it takes very little room in you luggage. I love that it is not bulky, has a hook to hang it up, and you are able to organise all your things without them being in a pile somewhere on the bottom. Very handy and convinient.

Best piece of basic gear I own

I have 2 of these tops, matching bottoms and underwear. I have been wearing them for several years now and feel I can write and honest review. I bought them on sale because the rep on the phone recommended them. I wear them during hunting season and all the way thru spring under my waders when I trout fish. When I wear them, I wear them hard. They truly are super soft and comfortable against the skin for extended periods.They also absorb moisture but dry out quickly when your working and sweating hard but still keep you warm. They fight odor like Bruce Lee fought bad ninjas. I have worn them on occasion for over 5 days straight and never took them off on backcountry hunting and fishing trips and they never once got nasty or stinky. They feel light and fit well against the skin so layering is easy, even if you just want to wear them under jeans and a shirt on cold days. They also come with a small repair patch should something happen. The rep was honest and told me they are not on the same level as smart wool but very comparable to icebreaker. I own icebreaker wool garments and not only are these better, but so is their customer service. I also own filson wool base layers (which are very nice) but these are way more comfortable against the skin and keep me warm. Period. In my opinion, if your looking for a simple and functional base layer, these just might be the best for the money and quality on the market.

Fabulous Jacket

I live in Colorado and use my gear for a wide variety of activities in all kinds of weather conditions. This jacket is well made and designed. It's extremely versatile as well. A great piece to have in your outdoor gear wardrobe. As an added bonus, they provide great customer support as well.
