Description

Headed for the high country where the views are outstanding? You want a pack made to carry the load without adding to it, and able to withstand some abuse.

The Summit 70 is built of Robic® a fabric which is not only lightweight but extremely resistant to tears and abrasion. Critical buckles are aluminum because you can't afford failure in big mountains. The Summit 70 has an adjustable back suspension. The torso length and spacing of the shoulder straps can be adjusted for optimal load distribution. In addition, the basis of the internal frame: two ergonomically shaped aluminum stays can be customized to the unique shape of your spine.

The top lid extends or removes to transform into a fanny pack or courier bag. It is compatible with a hydration system of your choice, with multiple lash points for adding tools to the outside, and an expandable main compartment with access from the top or bottom. When not in use or for smaller loads, it compresses small and flat.

Lightweight, Lots of Features

This backpack is perfect for a week long trek in the woods. Some of the features that make it lightweight are that it is made of a fabric called Robic, which is durable. It also has aluminum buckles that won't crack and or break. Weighing in at just over 4 pounds, this pack has features such as a removable "brain", an area for a hydration bladder as well as hose vents, adjustable torso and shoulder straps and you can hang all sorts of stuff to the outside of this pack. Since the Appalachian Trail is basically a series or weeklong hikes where you get to a town to rest, recharge and resupply at the end of the week, this would be a good AT Thru hike candidate.
